Welcome to Takeo! Your pretraining site before you actually get to your real training site

We spent about four days in Takeo, which is our hub training site. It was a nice break to finally be in one spot without the moving around and traveling from place to place. We were all finally able to take a breather, relax a bit, get to know each other a bit more and truely ask ourselves...what the hell did we get ourselves into? <3 <3

In almost every town or village in Cambodia you will find a local market where you can find just about anything you may need, such as: food, clothing, live animals, etc. ..

I love the children here. They are so friendly and adoreable and are not afraid to say hello.

We also had an opportunity to get tailored for some shirts and sampots (skirts), which will be our new dress attire for peace corps professional wear.
Seeing cows walking down the road has become a daily activity but i still get excited when ever i see them up close.

Geicos can be seen just about anywhere. My host family told me that they don't kill geicos because they consider them to be spirits of their relatives who have passed on.
They do a really good job keeping their distance. Which is a good thing. I'm not sure if i would like to wake up someday having them stare at me. But then again, i'm sure i'll eventually find some other creature starring me in the eye soon after waking up...
