Bohol, Philippines

After visiting Cebu we took a ferry ride to our next stop, which was Taglibaran, Bohol. Since most of the places we visited were islands our main source of transportation were ferries. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a boat person. In fact, I'm a chicken shit when it comes boats. I grew up in the desert surrounded by sand and I've never really been on a boat until this trip. Sure I was excited at times but there were many moments I was praying and secretly begging for the boat ride to be over soon because of all the rocking and shaking that was going on.

Witnessing a storm brewing in the distance can be pretty nerve wrecking.
In the Philippines people get around with a taxi ride on a motor tricycle. Most of the tricycles had female names labeled on them so I'm guessing that the drivers either named them after their sweet hearts or their daughters.

Good thing for us we went at a time when the tourist season was not in full gear so every beach we went to felt like our own private beach. We were also blessed with good traveling weather. We had a few refreshing rain drops here and there but nothing that derailed and prevented us from our traveling plans.

The religion in the Philippines is predominately Catholicism. In every town were traveled to there would be a few outdoor chapels adorned with statues and emblems.
This popular dessert is called halo-halo. It has everything you could ask for, purple ice cream, bananas, coconut, shaved ice, kidney beans, jack fruit and a little bit of corn. Say what you will, it was pretty damn delicious.

At one point we found out that our resort was right next to an under ground cave. So naturally we went exploring and decided to climb to the bottom of it and go for a little swim.

At the end of our trip we went to a tarsier sanctuary where we were able to have an up close look at these adorable little endangered species. They're as small as the palm as your hand and as much as I wanted to hold one they're bones are to delicate and can easily be crushed.
If I didn't know any better I'd swear this little guy was smiling for me.
