This one time in Bangkok...

This one time, I went to Bangkok for almost a whole month just to get my cracked tooth fixed and to get a root canal. It was very relaxing and so much fun but after a few weeks I was ready to come back to Cambodia to see my friends, my students and my host family and to get my projects started. I have to say though, the medical service in Bangkok is superb and I can understand why people from all over the world travel to Bangkok in order to get a medical check up or for other evaluations. I was impressed with the dentistry service and how there's not just a general dentist that does everything but how there are specialists who focus on different dental scenarios. For example, there was one specialist who took out all the decay from my rotten tooth and did my root canal. Then there was another specialist who provided a post for my tooth in order to be able to fit a cap and then there was another specialist who fitted me for a crown. So needless to say...they take dentistry very serious in Bangkok. Heck, even the services at the hospitals are amazing. I walked into a lobby in one of the hospitals and there was a professional pianist playing on a beautiful grand piano.
Everything else about Bangkok was also amazing, the food, the technology, the endless shopping malls and friendly Thai people. The city also reminded me of New York because of how fast paced the traffic of cars, motor bikes and people would zoom right by. Bangkok is also very fashion forward and I even saw a catwalk on a large screen in a random parking lot. I did my fair share on shopping for some new clothes (thanks sis and mom for putting money in my account) and of course I went to a few Buddhist temples. Thank you Bangkok for giving me such sweet memories and thanks Peace Corps for paying for my hotel and for taking care of my tooth.
